Can’t Trace Time is a Torchwood / Vorkosiverse crossover novella.
Owen Harper swore once he’d never set foot in a hospital in a staff capacity again. But an accident with an alien artefact puts him exactly where he doesn’t want to be: behind the administrator’s desk in a large medical facility. To make matters worse, it’s somewhere called Barrayar, which seems to combine far future technology with the social attitudes of an ancient episode of Dr Kildare. And then he’s called to a Situation on the roof, and meets someone who reminds him eeriely of home…
