The Affair of the Asphyxiated AcafanA.J. Hall
The Affair of the Asphyxiated Acafan is fanfic set in the BBC’s Sherlock universe.
Sarah Sawyer flies home from a convention in the US and brings an unexpected gift for her boyfriend - or, rather, his flatmate. Game on!
Warnings: The author chooses not to warn.
Advisory: Anyone with a phobia about injections may wish to approach chapters 6 and 7 with caution.
BBC’s Sherlock is, of course, AU: the characters exist, in 2010, in a world which never read about Sherlock Holmes, Dr John Watson, Professor Moriarty and Mrs Hudson in the Strand magazine from 1887 onwards. As a result, the detective story developed rather differently; Agatha Christie never wrote “Death in the Clouds” and Doctor Who never riffed off its classic Fontana cover in “The Unicorn and the Wasp”.
The characters and conventions mentioned in this work are purely fictitious and any resemblance to any living person or real-life incident is purely coincidental except as specifically mentioned.
Dedicated to Fay; chapter 3 dedicated to kalypso, who asked for more fiction centred on the women of Sherlock.
Thanks to Viki for betaing, in particular for her invaluable assistance on the topic of hypodermic good (and bad) practice and on insulin. Viki and Jonquil also Ameripicked chapter 5; any faults remaining are either my ignorance or Clues. Thanks to Jonquil for betaing chapter 6.
