To Strive, To Seek
A.J. Hall
To Strive, To Seek is a short story crossover between Mary Renault’s The Charioteer and Antonia Forest’s Falconer’s Lure (a Marlows story). The action of the story takes place shortly before, during and immediately after the events of Falconer’s Lure and some eight years after the events of The Charioteer.
In Mervyn’s case, it was the position of a bed in a surgical ward in war-time Bridstow and the chance gift of a copy of the East Africa Pilot.
Warnings: The author chooses not to warn.

Originally written for the 2014 Renault Fic Exchange, as a gift for Lilliburlero. The prompt requested a crossover with the Marlows books by Antonia Forest, and a story dealing with issues of class. Bonus prompt requests included Laurie and Ralph after the events of The Charioteer, and how the boy Mervyn got on following Ralph’s gift to him of the East Africa Pilot.
